The Wood Norton was built by the Duc D’Orleans in 1897, where the D’Orleans family lived until 1912.

In 1939, the estate was bought by the BBC to relocate its operations away from London in the event of hostilities.  By 1940 Wood Norton was one of the largest broadcasting centres in Europe with an output of 1,300 programmes a week.

The Wood Norton offers fifty rooms including five spectacular suites, a restaurant, contemporary bar and terrace, sumptuous private dining, state-of-the-art boardroom and meeting facilities, extensive grounds and formal gardens, and a beautiful venue for up to 180 guests.
